Here's a few pics of Buzzit1's new ride. Hopefully we'll get him trained in how to change filenames and pic posting.

Leon Hampton went with me to inspect it yesterday and it is a very rust free Calif. car with matching #'s and some very nice options including AM/8 track, power windows, 6 way seat, dual mirrors, aircond , vinyl top delete, SE addition, and a blue longitudinal stripe.

I feel very lucky to have found it.  I do need to acquire a few parts such as a 2998956 radiator if anyone has one for sale please let me know.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Good lookin' ride.  :2thumbs:  I think the blue longitudinal stripe is on the rare side.

What's your plans, just drive & enjoy it or do some tinkering?

This company makes the radiators in reproduction.  They are very nice pieces but are a bit pricey... over $1100 for a "956" which really isnt too bad when you consider junk 956's go for $500+

I live in Florida just North of Sarasota.  I flew to Michigan May 01  to look at this car reported to be from California and had no rust.  Leon Hampton met me at the sellers house (down a dirt and gravel road)  last friday and went over the car with a fine tooth comb.  We were both pleasantly surprised at how solid the car was and how complete.  The seller described the car and did not over describe the condition or anything else.

I do need a 2998956 radiator if anyone has one for sale or can give me a lead.

I plan to tinker with the car  a little:  get the ac fixed, repair the non working clock, possibly see if the am/8 track is working - reportedly station selector gets very few radio stations, 8 track is questionable.  I also plan to correct the engine compartment with the proper routing of the carb pcv lines, gas line, some clamps on the lower battery cable, proper belts and hoses, wiper motor finish, correct battery, and Leon pointed out the air cleaner should have the crinkle/wrinkle black finish and this one does not at the present time.

All in all should be a real fun project and I can't wait to show the members of the Manasota Mopar Club that I recently joined here in Florida my new acquisition.

Thanks for everyone's kind comments.  Special thanks to Barry Moorefield in PA., and Leon Hampton in Detroit, Mi., for giving me their time and advice on this car.  I graduated hs in 1969 and remember these beautiful cars when they were new.  Just so you know, minumum wage back then was $1.65 per hour and gas was 21.9 cents per gallon.  I am living the DREAM!

Best Regards,

Jim Blakely aka Buzzit1

Speaking of Chargers, how's your mix and match FrankenCharger thing coming along, kab?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Very nice car and welcome to the site.

Not trying to be a jerk but just curious as I am unsure. Is the jack hold down spring mounted correctly as I thought the wheel wrench went through it?
