This Charger right here is a one of none, that means none before it, none to come.

How can you tell other than maybe some numbers on the block if its a 440 Magnum? Also the guy I bought it from said it came out of an R/T. I was told it has Magnum exhaust manifolds and the air cleaner which I Think is after market because its chrome has a nice 440 magnum center plate. Any info will help. Also got it running today and it sounds pretty good, did a little driving around my back yard. Amazingly every gauge seems to work  :2thumbs:

I've noticed too many good deals lately.  There was a 69 RT SE last week on Craigslist by my house for $5k....... WTF... Needed typical restoration.

Well worked on it a little more today. Cleaned the fuel tank out, took off the old Holley and replaced it with a new 750 cfm Edelbrock, new plugs. Had to mess with the timing a little and she fires right up. Cleaned up the messy wiring so its not going every which way. Tomorrow she gets an oil change and a good rad. flush and some new hoses. Pretty happy with it since previous owner said it didn't run very well. Sounds pretty good to me!

Well some good news. Took the engine out today its stamped E 440 HP date code 10-1-68  :2thumbs: . The bad is its already bored 60 over and has one bad cylinder and piston. Hopefully it can be cleaned up. So it will get new pistons new cam and of course all new bearings. every thing else looked good. There was actually no exhaust manifold gaskets and atleast 2 tubes of silicone everywhere. Tomorrow I plan on taking all the chrome off and send it off to the paint shop. I've been thinking about what color to paint it and I think I will go with a kind of black cherry metallic with a ghost tail strip.

Took it out so the car could go to paint. Figured might as well freshen it it up while it was out because it was last done in the 80s and had been sitting since the mid 90s. I guess I should have said The one cylinder had some scaring on the wall and the piston had the same it wasn't broken. As far as the cam itself it was good it was the gear at the end for the oil pump That is was worn because whoever built it didn't put the bushing for the for the oil pump shaft in so it was moving around quit a bit.
