does anyone have a picture of this thing installed?
Thinking about buying one, but I don't see it's function....  :scratchchin:

It slides on the big nut on the relay - it basically shields the live power from an errant wrench or tongue.

Nacho-RT74

what he said.

simply slides in to the big relay nut at stud ( first one against bakelite ).

I'm not sure I get it, so the round hole goes into the BATT stud, and the plate covers the top side of the relay?  :shruggy:

maxwellwedge

Basically - yes. The hole slides over the first nut on the stud, the cable and second nut go on. Kinda like the shield on the alternator stud.

not really critical, just for safety, you can live without it. My car never got it since is in my hands 10 years ago, but I put it 1 year ago.
