Looking for mopar scrap yards

Well I live in cincinnati Ohio and I been driving the back roads of ohio indiana and kentucky looking for old mopars that I could use parts too save my 68 charger some people are helpful others give the same ole excuse "ive got plans for that car" I just tell em sure looks like the plans include making your soil iron rich" but I digress Does anyone know of any scrap or junk yards that you can look thru I do find some success with a place called besslers They do have a nice classic section But everyone keeps telling me about mopar mountain which just seems like a tall tale cause everyone knows about it but know one knows where it is

Finding old chargers in junkyards is very difficult.  Most reside behind someone's house or in their basement.  And people that find such a place tend to keep it secret so they can get all the stuff they want.  Plus, there is a lot of folks that don't care about the hobby and just want to make money on EBAY.  I would suggest that you hook up with a local MOPAR club and make some friends among them.  Friends in a group tend to share info like you are looking for.  Good luck in your search.  I've been there!

There are specialty mopar salvage yards out there, but they generally know what they have value wise on the market.  Alot of reproduction parts have been produced lately, so you really need to look into what is avaliable in that area first to save some time and aggravation searching for certain parts.  Granted, if you want everything 100% vintage (ie. no reproduction parts), they you will have to seek out those specific parts by either mopar salvage yard, swap meet or private sale.  Most average salvage yards either crushed their older iron when scrap prices went high or only have picked over shells of vintage Chargers left in place.  You can't blame them, they are after all in business to make money.  Granted, they could make more money if they held onto the older stuff longer, but then they are restricted in the storage area that they have.  The old saying goes: "You can't keep everything" rings true.

Don't blame collectors for having rough Chargers lying around, as that is what fuels the potential project supply in the future.  Without them, alot of Chargers would not have been saved over the years and the prices would have been much higher than they are now (lower overall Charger supply with a higher overall demand, as there would be fewer owners but alot more seekers)......

I lived near them, and they were always rude to me, charged extreme prices for rusty metal.  FYI.

They are not cheap that's for sure. I have only dealt with them one time; they were friendly on the phone with me but expensive. I had no choice the parts I needed Napa did not carry. The choices are limited out there.
