Hi guys I am brand new to the forum and since the first car my parents ever bought me was a 73 charger with the 318. I figured I will ask you guys the question. I have a chance to buy an 06 SRT8 with 71,000 miles for $17,000.00 from a local dealership with a 3month and 3000 mile warranty probably will purchase a private company extended warranty if I am able to, the car is super clean inside and out what do you guys think? I havent purchased a preowned car in 15yrs and this car will be my daily driver to and from work. the car was amazing on the test drive. ALL opinions are welcome. THANKS

I'd run from this deal. Mileage is high, probably has been beat on being an SRT8. Maybe if it has a transferable FACTORY warranty consider it. Do a carfax search on it.

richard pettys 73

the car is only 3 years old with 71000 miles they must have drove it cross country and back alot......that is alot of miles maybey if it were 36000 to 45000 miles...but i too would also run from that deal :Twocents:

Don't let the difference between the 73' and the 06' sway your decision, they are night and day in ride, engine, sound and finish.  If you've been driving the 73 then you are used to a little (maybe a lot) stiffer ride and some old finish items.  BUT...remember that the 06' does not allow much modification (you are stuck because of the emissions rules.)

Can you keep the 71' as the fun car and the other as a work car?  Maybe that's the answer (or did you intend that all along?)
