You won't find anything anywhere on Long Island for older cars.  only late model stuff.  Even then you have to be willing to pay about 99% of what you could buy it for brand new.  But at least you get to put up with the lowlifes behind the counter treating you like a NARC at a biker rally.  They will also do you the honor of basically destroying any parts they pull for you because they have evidently forgotten what sockets and wrenches were.  only the bluetipped wrench in their box!  and don't forget, no returns on electrical parts and $25.00 minimum purchase.  ohh...and the best part; you call on the phone and they have so much better to do than look up a part for you and tell you to come down.  you get there and some other toothless bastard, without hesitation, says "we don't have that"

check out the website for medford auto wreckers.  the guy from dirty jobs did a segment there and it's on their home page.  they take out an alternator with a torch.  by the time they dragged the torchhead and gas lines over there, lit it, and burned through the brackets, they could have easily had it off with a couple of wrenches. locked doors on a taurus, smash the window...nobody would ever need that anyway.
