I am a bit color blind but to me it looks like FY1  Lemon Twist.
1968 Charger R/T 440
2004 Dodge Ram 2500 680 HP Cummins with attitude

Curious Yellow  -  GY3   1971 Only Color  - See the lime in it?

maxwellwedge

OK - So that confirms it is not an original paint survivor then....... :icon_smile_big:

maxwellwedge

Dodge called it Citron Yella - Same code - GY3

Ghoste

Are you considering it for something Larry?

maxwellwedge

He should paint his Skater that color - It would scare the crap out of the fish!

daytonalo

Hey guys I really appreciate it ! To be honset my Daytona is ready for paint and I'm all over the place , was going with f-6 until we crossed it with Sikkens and it came up a 3 stage . Funny you mention the Skater , it is going to paint very , very soon

If I could order a 'Tona brand new what color would I pick......Hmmmmm.............

F6 is one of my faves. I think Black would top the list - F6 a close second. Go-Mango/Vitamin C (Like the Omaha Orange car - very close) would be cool as well.

Curious Yellow - If it was available would look good on a 'Bird - It needs all the black accents - It is a retina searing color.

Your boat - Black with Curious Yellow and Hemi Orange flames!  :drool5:

We sprayed out V-c orange , way too muddy looking

maxwellwedge

The original stuff has a little bit of metallic in it which (I think) makes it look nice outside.

daytonalo

Yes our spray out had met  it as well , all of the guy's who work for me felt it looked muddy outside

Larry, due to the lighting and such, it looks to me to be SubLime on the RoadRunner in photo.

Mark
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

:iagree:  J5 Lime Light Poly PPG code DAR2128

daytonalo

WOW !!! As mentioned earlier , it must be the lighting , looks very yellow to me

maxwellwedge

I see a lot of yellow as well. Even though colors can look totally wrong in pics, and people screw up the color when re-painting I still stick with my original guess of GY3.
Larry - Sikkens has a dead nuts match of GY3 that Roger Gibson matched from 2 original paint cars for them - they put it in their wheel.

Do a spray out of GY3 and see if you like it. It is an "in your face" color  for sure.

daytonalo

So the demon is GY-3 , so what color do you think the 70 RR is ?

maxwellwedge

It looks a lot closer to GY3 than any other color mentioned.

I'll agree that it appears to be more like GY3 in the photo of the RR. However they were probably shooting for a FJ5 when they painted the car. Just taking a stab in the dark here. But also lighting and overexposure can play a lot of tricks when taking a photo of a car in direct sunlight as was done in the show photo of the RR. Best time of day to get a true photo to relate to the actual colors on a car is to take the picture within the first hour of the sun coming up. Its the best TRUE light that can be used for photo's. Unless they set the white balance on the camera they were using during the direct sunlight shoot, their camera will not match the colors as they really are or appear to the naked eye.
