I went to a local farm supply auction yesterday and I think I lucked out a bit.  In amounst the piles (and piles and piles) of junk, I spied a few car parts together on the ground.  So, being the car nut that I am, I stayed outside in the cold as the auction party slowly worked its way to the stuff that I wanted, not wavering from the parts very long.  I could have went inside where the new farm shop stuff was selling, but there literally a sea of farmers/ranchers in there all talking at once so it was hard to hear what they were selling (and I did not want that stuff).  After four hours of patiently waiting, I ended up getting the parts lot for alot less than I had planned on.  Unfortunately, nothing Mopar related was there, but performance items none the less.  I ended up with a set of big block vintage aluminum M/T valve covers, which would not be usually worth much except these had 427 H/P in the circles.  I figured they were 427 Chevy stuff that I could resell to a local chevy guy for his corvette.  When I turned them over, the inside stamping said 427 FORD. :icon_smile_cool:  I had never seen one of those except in vintage MT advertisements from the 60s.  Also in the lot was a set of headers with the bolts and a set of used (but good) rods, more than likely all from the same engine.  In retrospect, I probably messed up in not buying the 1966 cast iron big block Ford heads for $25 earlier in the sale. :slap:  Lesson learned:  Never underestimate a "junk" farm auction as you might be suprised at what might actually be there.....

Cool! :2thumbs: When you sell them I hope you make some money and make someone happy at the same time.

I think this Ford was one of my favorite cars from the Roadster Show.  Original paint survivor, when you walked by it you could smell the musty smell of old iron.
