Clutch pedal won't return on its own

Hey everyone,

I am just finishing off my 4 speed conversion on my 69 RT and I figured I had everything done when I got into the car and found the pedal when depressed will not return on its own.  If I bring it back maybe 1/3 of the way it then springs back.

Any suggestions?  I am hoping the clutch itself isn't the issue.

Thanks in advance,

My kid brother just had some Chinese built clutch assembly in his 66 that he bought at a local discount store.  When he'd step on the pedal, the throughout bearing would actually slip through the fingers on the pressure plate.  He  called Brewer's and got a new clutch. No problem since.

did you use a diaphram clutch ? if so you must remove the overcenter spring  :2thumbs:

Is there a spring pulling the throwout fork forward?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Yep, diaphram clutch.

Remove the over center spring and WALLA!

If you guys would quit using Chevy clutches you wouldn't have to fix the problems you create! :spank:  :icon_smile_big:
