No perverted answers here please.  :icon_smile_big:

I am trying to remove the A/C and other junk. How do I loosen the tension on the belts in order to remove this stuff? Couldnt find any other threads explaining this. It is a stock 440.

Thanks

i don't have A/C so i don't know which side the belt connects too (i assume the PS side but here are both sides)

under the alternator will be a bolt but the bracket it goes to has a slide in it, after you LOOSEN the bolts (dont take them out) it will slide towards the fan and loosen the belt

PS side, LOOSEN the bolts if the pump is stuck or painted into the brackets you will see a square hole cut into the pump/bracket, use a 3/8 breaker bar to get the pump to move on the bracket, this will loosen the belt

Thanks mauve. That did the trick. I have the PS side setup. After reading your post and looking at it, that totally made sense.

I believe the hole on the PS pump is 1/2 not 3/8...though might just be a 3rd gen thing??
