i have 2 different lower hinges on my 72 charger.. the right side has a spring with a cam type lever and roller pin and the left side has a "s" hook type spring and a bar with  what looks like 2 cam wheels on the top which is correct? does it matter which type i use?

Nacho-RT74

both works. We have had some debates about which one is the correct one. IMHO for a 72 the roller pin and pushing spring is more correct, for a while S spring is more 73 and laters. I have had doubts because 2nd gens use the S spring too I think.

71s down here in Venezuela does have the pushing spring and pin roller. Mine ( 74 ) and a buddy's 73 does have the S spring kind

Yeah, that's what I think too...
Mind you, they could have been replaced at the dealer etc too at anytime during the car's life...
