Charger stripped, what does she weigh?.

I've got my Charger in storage, around 3000 miles away.
I'll be heading west to go pick it up in April.

I had the body dipped around four years ago, and after retrieving it, I inhibited the bare metal with a thick coating of LPS III spray.
This worked very well at keeping the rust bug away.

Before I left Alberta, I rented a sea container in a storage facility and put the Charger in there for an 11 month nap.

I've got an open car trailer, but that won't be suitable for the task at hand, so I'll be buying an enclosed car hauler.
I know the car hauler weighs 3300lbs. I'm wondering what the Charger would weigh, just as a stripped down unibody?
My gutless Dodge Ram will be the tow vehicle...and I'm aiming for 50+ mph.

By guesstimation, I'm figuring the car - complete - should weigh approximately 3900 lbs.
The Dana 60 maybe 250 lbs?
Rear springs, 100lbs?
The 440/fourspeed, complete, should weigh 1000 lbs?
Interior, dash, seats etc, maybe 400lbs?
Glass...60 lbs?
Wheels and tires x 5... 250lbs?
Fenders x2, 100lbs?
Doors x2, 100lbs?
Hood and trunklid maybe 80lbs?
Bumpers and brackets x2, 100lbs?
K frame and front suspension, steering box, 300lbs?
Driveshaft, fuel tank, grille, 100lbs?

Which means the bare body is....
860 lbs.

Does that sound about right?

Quote from Troy, "My guess is that the body itself (rotisserie ready) weighs somewhere near 1,100-1,200 pounds"

I'm sure you're pretty close on your guess though, or maybe a little low.

I don't know the actual weight, but it ain't much. When my 69 was just an empty shell with only the rearend still bolted in, I could walk up to the front of the car, grab the top of the radiator support, and lift the entire front of the car-looked impressive, but there wasn't much to it...

yeah when i stripped mine  down the the bare uni body  , could  lift the front end up shoulder hight easy ,  but that was with jack stands on the frame near the front spring hangers  seesaw effect ... tryed it the other way round lift from rear !  :o ..could barely lift it .  was just trying to save time with raising it up & putting it on my tallest jack stands , instead going to one end to the other with a floor jack , not really the best way of doing things  :rotz:

Yeah, they all look the same when reduced to their basics!
