yeah yeah I know, but we  have been together for 3 years and it was just time to do it I'll be out of school for good next year and she will be almost done with college. There is no set date yet we are waiting untill we are both out of school!! As for the story shae has been looking at this ring for a couple of weeks (not expensive at all) and I kept telling her no I couldn't afford it, I wanted to buy a part for the charger, anything to drag her hopes down (make her think she wasn't getting it!!  Well I was going to get it lastnight after school, but she calledme from the er (fell on the ice). anywy I went tonight after work and bought it. that was a pain in the ass I told the jewler I was paying cash for it she asked me 3 times if I wanted to put it on layaway, duh. :brickwall:Anywho I went to her house and told her I loved her more than she loved me she said prove it so I pulled the ring out and proposed!! Oh yeah now she owes me a lot of time in the garage working on the charger so she can pay the ring off :smilielol:. See guys and girls the secret is find a woman who has a lot of same interest and keep her!! thanks and when we do finally set a date all of you are invited!!

FYI:  the college girl that you marry will be totally different from the wife that you will have once she has been out in the working world for a year or two.

Good luck to you and your bride to be..

One thing an old guy told me was: the one who loves least in a relationship controls the relationship -- but he said a lot of weird things.  Good luck to you and your betrothed. Kim

You're right about the one who controls the relationship.
Another thing to note is your beloved one will become a totally different person when her first child will be born... and she will try to control the whole family.
Been there, done that... :RantExplode:
People don't want to believe it, until they experience it by themselves. :shruggy:

We have been together since high school and now college and trust me there has been alot of temptations, but coming from the type of past we both have (parents divorced and not wanting to live like they did) you look above and beyond those temptations and look at the treasure you have. We have had our fights and bs! I don't know about the controlling thing, but we have the same veiws as long as the bill are paid first we don't care what be buy! (me the charger stuff) ( her  :shruggy: probablly charger stuff orhouse items) Relationships have to be mutual to workout and we both agree!!!!

CONGRATS!   Learn the words "yes dear" and "your right" and youll never have problems  hahahaha :2thumbs:

When i got engaged i spent the money i saved for 10 years for my charger on a ring.  Year and a half later we got married, moved from Charleston,SC to Toms River, NJ (hometown), bought a house with a two car garage, but sacrificed my dream car for that.   About 4 months later I found another 69 charger w/ a small block and the new wife asked me if i was going to buy it and I said no we couldn't afford it.  The next day she told me to clean my garage out, when i opened the door it was in there. She still amazes me everyday, she said she knew how much it meant to me and that i have wanted one for almost ten years (since I was 17), and since i sacrificed my savings for the engagement and the house she wanted, the charger was a little symbol to show her appreciation.   Some times things happen for a reason.  Its amazing how much better our marriage is, now that a charger is involved  hahahaha!

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

mikepmcs

Who's gonna start the enema thread??
And I also find it humorous that the word in the title is EN"GAG"MENT.  That Freud was something wasn't he??

I was a cradle robber.  My wife was 19 and I was 28 so I heard all kinds of what to expect stories.  If there was one constant out of all those stories was none of those know-it-alls' were even remotely correct.

Congratulations man, sounds like a keeper.  :2thumbs:

That is one of the most true statements I ever have heard.
