You already have the sot mags and yellow exterior, why don't you go DMCL clone? :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:
That was the plan. Always wanted one, but my finance bought me a set of decals and wheels to make a General. Don't get me wrong I like the DOH as I have since I was a kid. I have a lot of stuff from the DOH era. So my DMCL will have to wait. I already have all the parts I need to make one so I figure what the heck, at least  it's getting restored :2thumbs:
THIS CAR IS GOING TO BE A GL CLONE!?!? :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
Atleast for a year or so.
That sounds good. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
I am more of a fan on DMCL cars myself. :yesnod: So, what is planned as far as drivetrain? :shruggy:

I am to myself but there both awesome cars :yesnod:. I'm building a 383 that came out of a 69, and if everything works out right it will have a 4-speed back in it :icon_smile_big:

Are you going to change any badging to R/T? :scratchchin: :scratchchin:
I know it would have a 383, but who doesn't love the R/T? :icon_smile_big:

That would be cool but I'm going to leave it like it was, order all new badges. I thought about it but I will eventually go back the way it was. I like to try and keep them like they were when they were born :icon_smile_big:

With a car that nice, and that clean, you should take the opportunity to have it blasted. That way you can get ALL The crap off around the nooks an crannies and work with good, clean metal!

I wish my car had started that straight...  :coolgleamA:

Finn

Coming on swell (been itching to use that word all weekend haha)!

Did a little more body work today. The driver side is going to take the longest to straighten. The quarter has half inch bondo covering dents, look how they spread the bondo right over the old paint without even sanding it down first :rotz:. I'm just glad it's starting to come along :2thumbs: The more I do the more excited I get !

Did more body work tonight . I just cant believe how much body filler was used for filling dents instead of pulling them out :rotz:. You can see were they replaced the rear panel.

Hey guys got all the rust cut out and new pieces shaped to weld :2thumbs:. I was wondering on what to use on the inner metal. I have Por-15 and I already blasted the metal. Is this what I should use or do you recommend something else? Just wounder if there was something better. Thanks-Rich

[/quote Thanks . My plan was to make a GL but that has changed. The more I work on her the more I'm liking the yellow. While sanding some of the old 70's pinstripe came through so I will mock that and keep her oldschool :2thumbs:

Are you keeping those wheels? :2thumbs: I love slotted mags and the more I see them the more I want them. I can't believe no one makes them anymore.

Yeah and I wish they still made them to as they are the best looking mags made :Twocents:

Good progress but I would dump the Por 15.
There are better and less toxic rust inhibitors out there.
Such as Zero Rust -http://www.restorick.com/zerorust.htm

Silver R/T

if you can get a wand to spray por15 behind quarter, where you can't reach with a brush that would be great. Maybe even replace whole lower part of the 1/4, they have patch panels available
