What causes the headlight doors to sagg on the outer sides and is the a cure for this?

Just 6T9 CHGR

There are supposed to be tabs or stops attached to the doors in the upper corners to prevent this.   Most times these are broken off.....  See upper right of pic for tab

You might be able to fab a bracket out of metal and screw it to the door using small screws maybe??

Hmm....I'll have to check that out too.  Could a vacuum leak somewhere also cause the doors to not close completely?  They open just fine, they just end up closing halfway...

Ghoste

A leak could cause that.  Do they seem very sluggish to open as well?  I would check for binding on the pivot points of the doors first.  After 35 years, they opened and closed a lot of times.  Could be a little wear in there.  ;)
