Engine will not start

I tried starting my Charger today and got a click with turn of the key. It has been sitting in the garage for a week without the batt. charger on it. (It has been very cold here) The battery is 7 months old as is the starter motor. Tried to jump it and still got the one click. The battery has 13.25 volts at the terminals. It is on a 1.5 amp slow charger right now. If the charge does not work, where should I start to troubleshoot at? I guess the click is coming from the starter motor. All I do in the winter is start it and let it idle for about 15 minutes.

Do you have lights and stuff?  Sounds like it could be a loose ground or loose wire somewhere.  Tough to tell not being there. Start by cleaning and reinstalling battery terminals and checking for loose wires or corrosion.  Unhook the battery before you go tightening wires on the starter.

was just about to say that , try cleaning your battery terminals & re fitting them , make sure thre are tight

Have lights, cables are tight and clean. The starter is an autozone one. Is thier a way to check the starter without taking it off? Or, should I try something else?

Check the wires at the starter relay, maybe loose or try jumping it at the relay.

Just my thought, put power directly on the brown wire on the starter attached with a screw.

How is this done on a 74 Charger?

Try tapping the starter relay. They will stick occasionally.

You can jump across the starter relay cantacts and the engine should crank.(next to power brake booster)

This will bypass neutral safety switch and ignition switch. (trans. in park/brake set, no one in front of car)

If it does not crank, have a helper attemp to start car while you tap on the starter with a small Ford fixer (hammer). If it cranks now, the starter solenoid is sticking/bad.

Check for clean / tight connections on the starter.
