So I have a 66 with dealer option 4bbl 361. That "little" motor runs great but its coming out to be preserved. Going in its place is a 392 from an old DeSoto. The problem lies in the tranny hook up. my 727 will not bolt to this early hemi, and finding an early tranny around here is near impossible. Any ideas?

that's horse poop. There has to be a way to keep my power steering and power brakes. Plus that page said "you need to convert to this, luckily I sell the conversion piece" for many of the entries.

Thanks for the help man. I really appreciate it, but I cannot accept that as the final word.

want opinions.. here is mine.. sell the 392, use the money to buy a 400 or a 440.. stroke it, get the power you need plus more.. and not worry about the 392.  the 392 is just for conversation anyways.. the stroked 400/440 would smoke it any day of the week.

No 392 in the De Soto. Also, if you do have a 392,it weighs about 150lb more than your 361.What are you trying to accomplish? Just curious.

Just wanted to do something a little off the beaten path. The 392 may not have come with that DeSoto, but that is where it was when I found it.
