From an energy independence standpoint, electricity is OVERWHELMINGLY better than gas: The US supplies the fuel for over 85% of the electricity produced here, and the rest is primarily nuclear, which we get from countries like Canada and Australia, who we're on excellent terms with.

And being on good terms is the biggest reason we should invade those countries. They'll never expect it & the element of surprise will be on our side. A few more states & stars on the flag would be cool too.

Seriously though...I would think that the more electrics out there and the more demand for electricity, then the more power plants get built.  Stands to reason that those new plants would not be as bad with pollution than the current ones.  even new coal plants would better than the 40-50 year old ones out there.  And if that previous poster was right when he said the pollution levels are pretty much a wash between gas and electric at the end of the day, I would rather pick choice A and stick up the rear of OPEC.
