Help with part? What would you call it?

If anyone can please name this part I would appreciate it! I removed the fender since my 1970 Charger had been hit. This part is listed as a front splash shield in my part book like the back one. The back is a replaceable part. I went to locate the front and soon discovered it is connected to the headlight assembly and the sheet metal alone cannot be replaced since it is a solid unit. My bezels and so on are fine and I only need the metal replaced (that surrounds the headlights) and cannot figure out if this is possible. I would hate to have to purchase (or try to find one for that matter) the complete setup. Any ideas? I figure I can try and bang out the twisted metal....but I don't see that working. What would you call that part?(I thought a headlight assembly) Again, my part book calls it a front splash shield.(strange!) Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Fender front inner structure?

Headlight bucket mount?

You might be better off finding a whole fender.   :shruggy:

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your help. I have the fender out for repair, I just want to fix this piece before I put it all together and I don't know how to go about it. If you have any more ideas...feel free to share them!

If I'm not mistaken, that piece was spot-welded in place at the factory and will need to be welded back into the fender. Can you take it to whoever is repairing the fender and have them reassemble it?

Hi, I don't know if at one time it may have been spot welded although I don't think so. It is a seperate unit altogether connected to the headlight. I took the fender off of my other charger and sure enough...same thing just not tore up. I just don't know how to get the metal back in shape ready to assemble when my fender is complete. It really doesn't matter since you would never see it, it is just that I know it is bent. Thanks for your input.

That part is WELDED to the inside front area of 1970 Charger fenders. I can see in your pic the broken spotwelds, and the bolt-on front bumper support wedge.
If it is torn from your fender and is still OK, clean it up and have the shop weld it back on for you.
