i have a 69 charger
i looked at the title when i bought it made september 12 1968
so do i have a 1968 charger or a 69 charger? or do i have both?
im just curious because when i finally decide to sell it (far from it) i could sell it as either, right?
Let it alone^.

Your build date is late enough, it is likely a 69. The ansewer is in the serial number. The 6th digit of the serial number is the year.

I.E.

Xh23g9b100100 would be a 1969 Charger
xh23g8b100100 would be a 1968 Charger

No you have a '69 Charger

The 69 model year started production on 7/28/68 and ended on 7/18/69

Yes it's a '69.  The model-year production starts in the fall before the actual year that it's dated.  A car built in the fall of 1969 is a 1970 model.

And the same thing still happens today... the 2009 models have been out for 4 months already.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
