Engine decoding?

Where would I find the engine code on my 1968 charger engine and where would I go to be able to decipher what the numbers meant?

What kinda motor? On a smallblock it's stamped into the block just below the drivers side head.

On a B block it's stamped in a machined flat along side the distributor, on an RB block it's stamped in a square pad in front of the intake manifold.

Its a 383 big block I just wanted to check the code!!!

Post the numbers here and somebody will be able to decode them.

The Code is on the side not by the distributor it is 246813012 with the date 3-18-68.

That's a casting number for a 383 block and a casting date of March 18, 1968.  No other numbers stamped on there anywhere?  On the oil flange on the passenger side or??
