.......I'd be willing to wager less than 1% of these cars are salvageable.

1% is salvageable now, or 10 or 20 years from now? They were stripping and crushing (relatively) rust free hemi bodies, six pack bodies, R/T's, etc into the early 80's. I grabbed my parts off these cars and watched them go just like a lot of folks, without even a second thought. Now look at the completely rusted, wrecked, burned-out 318 cars that people spend 10's of thousands on toay. What's considered junk today will be valued tomorrow.

That 70 Coronet convertible is someone's future clone car. It looks reasonably salvageable even by today's standard - certainly by tomorrow's. Some effort to keep the best of them as salvageable as possible now, could be pocket change in the future. Anyhow, it's you're junk - just something to consider! I enjoyed the pictures. Thanks.

Now you may have me confused with the yards owner, He is Jim Walton. I've been friends with Jim since about 79 or 80 . Actually lived there in the early to mid 80's ( thus all the buying )
And yes, he still has 6 packs, hemis, Shaker hood assy's a complete max wedge engine all in the basement. Most if not all my stuff from that era is long gone.

I recall when Jim Waltons house of wing cars 500/s etc .Was featured in a road america segment of car craft magazine in the 80-s.Got to dig up that magazine picture

Yep, back in the day, we had a bit of a stash of cars behind the house-  4 -superbirds,( Jim still has 2 of the birds) 2 -charger 500's , 3 - daytonas , 2 -1970 sixpack superbees, 1 -1969 hemi runner, 1 -70 hemi runner, 1- 69 440 GTX convertible , 1 -69 hemi gtx hardtop, 1-A12 roadrunner, 1 -64 max wedge plymouth, 1 - 1970 sixpack cuda, 2 - 1970 hemi cudas, 1- AAR, 1 - TA, 1 - 71 340 4spd shaker cuda hardtop, 1- 71 383 4spd cuda convertible,  1 - dealer done altered wheelbase 65 dodge( jim still has this one) and in the barn were 2 - LO23 1968 Hemi darts( he still has one of them  )all at the same time. Plus all the parts cars we could find

the Red Hemi dart he kept was at the Fred Engelhart show a few years back. it's the one with the interior that looks like a 60's bowling ball

1 - daytona is still local to me, it's the wrecked one I mentioned about 2 months ago
1 - bird was the 3rd one built / 1st released for sale - still local around here- restoration begins 2010
1 - 1970 Hemi cuda has been restored and is still local  and has a wicked running Barton built matching #'s hemi in it
2nd - bird is still in cincinnatti and has been restored - don't remember if it's EV2 or EK2  4barrel car
1969 Hemi GTX was sold to Mark Oswald ( formally the hired shoe for the Candies and Hughes funnycar many years back). He kept it for a few years and it's now back in Cleves Ohio, Originally R6 red but now B5 blue.

I'd love to come see this wonderful yard on my return trip from the Power Tour.  Definitely sounds like a place I'd like to see!  Just a nice way to finish up a crazy trip!

Hard to say, I haven't seen him  in years. Owners name was Elie ( pronounce E  lie ) don't remember his last name. He bought my daytona and traded it for nose cones for his other cars. I can only assume he still has any or all or none at all. The Daytona he kept was a 4 spd car I think he bought it out of michigan . No idea the color combination on it though

Bill, you live real close to me... I live off of Idlewild rd. I mainly read and collect information on this site, but I couldn't resist replying to this one. I grew up in Florence and also know Jim. I've only spoke to him a few times. I recognized the cars and the field as jimmies before I saw the reference to Burlington. Not to many fields like old "mopar heaven" ( Walton's farm nickname when I was a kid)

IMHO the cars siting there at some time should be put up for sale and allowed to be restored or to be parted out for any and all good parts. not just left there to rust to pieces...and not helplessly crushed.

Every car in there is for sale as a whole or parts and have been since they were parked there. I would bet less than 5% are actually restorable
