I'm looking to put a 426 hemi into an original 68 hemi charger.
Where is the best place in Ontario or Michigan to get one of these?
Thanks

It depends on what you want.  If you really want a mopar crate engine then just call up Mancini Racing in Michigan and order one.  They'll ship it to your door.  If this were my car this would not be my first choice.  Even though ass'y has now been handed over to Ray Barton you are still very limited on how this motor is put togeter i.e. cam selection, compression etc...  I would highly suggest getting a motor built to your specifications.  There are many sources close to you for this.  Muscle Motors will build to suit and also contact Tim at For Hemi's Only.  He does excellent work and he is in Canada.  You can also call up Ray Barton in Pennsylvania and have him build a motor just for you.  I have a pair of his custom ported heads on my 68 Hemi Charger and he is a great guy to deal with.
You can type in any of the above mentioned names into Google and get their info.

I'd stay away from the Mopar crate motors.......quality control is not what it should be. I'd find a GOOD engine builder and build it ground up OR contact "for hemis only" .......http://www.forhemisonly.com/

I bought my 69 R/T project with a fresh, beautifully built 451 Stroker already in.  On the dyno it did an angry 510 HP to the rear wheels.  The man I bought it from was 6 months into his dream Charger, when he got the news he was going back to Iraq for another tour.  Unfortunately he had to sell his dream Charger, because his family would need the cash while he was gone for a year or more.  God bless him, as he keeps us safe.

This 451 is an awesome motor, however I've been dreaming of having Ray build me a hemi for the last 10 years.  I may yet pull the 451 Stroker and hold it over for another project...no probably not because of the body & interior costs I have in front of me.  I need to keep moving forward on the R/T, rather than create a 20K+ Hemi expense, when I already have a great engine.

You should go for it, if you have the budget.  Contact Ray direct and have him build you a sweet Hemi.  Having Ray build you a Hemi is stepping up into the big leagues.  If you want to play with the big dogs, expect to have Deep pockets.  I wish I was in your shoes, with the opportunity to build my Dream Motor.  Good luck.

I would go to Tim Banning, at For Hemis Only, and get him to build you one!! Great guy to deal with!  :2thumbs:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

As much as I preach about researching stuff I didn't do any of it when I purchased my MP crate motor.  Actually I knew a little about the sketchy past and asked the parts manager at the dealership if I needed to open the motor and he assured the past problems were just that, in the past, and their new assembler fixed the problems.  I sold my Harley and the money was burning a hole in my pocket and there was a new motor less than 15 minutes away so I jumped on it.

Eventually I'll have to pull mine out and it'll go to Tim @ ForHemisOnly.  If I had researched a bit I would have found I could have gotten a similar motor from him for the same money and had the peace of mind.
I bought my Stage 5 intake package from him and the customer service was A#1.  :2thumbs:

Actually I think he is right....from what I've heard about their assembled crate motors the quality of the build has slipped a bit. That's just I've heard through the grape vine from people that used to run Indy stuff all the time... :Twocents:
