dropped off the finished grill yesterday and took a couple of more pics.  the upper hose I got fits near perfect.  I see no reason to have one of those flex hoses on any car when there are so many hoses that can be used...

they put the tailights in, new trunk weatherstrip....I should be driving it by next weekend....or at least have it back.

oh christ! I found that hose by bringing my old one down to the store...I never asked what it this hose was intended to fit, it worked so I bought it.  I just looked it up, it's a gates 20603.  It's actually a LOWER hose for a chevy van 79-82!  that settles it, I'm ordering a goodwrench smallblock!

This will be the last round of pics of the car at the shop. I dropped of some door hardware and a maxifuse for my fan...he just has to button up the doors and then they will detail the car.  I will probably get it next week.  should be cruising by memorial day.

speaking of wheels...I have yet to see how my boyd's look on the car with it painted...but I am having some regret buying them.  part of it is the chrome.  my first thought was that the chrome would be easy to take care of.  when I look at them now, it's actually hard to tell what they look like because they are so f'ing shiny!

as luck would have it, a guy right around the corner I made friends with a while back has a 70 roadrunner.  he bought it with coyes wheels on it. 20's out back, 19's up front.   They style of wheel is almost identical to the tq II's that I currently have.  He took them off and bought stock ralley wheels.  When I get the car back I am going to go to his house and try them.  If me likey, I will buy them and sell the boyd's

I know I dropped off the map for a while...between crazy work schedule (swimming pools) and the body shop being swamped, we haven't been able to get together.

That's all different today. I'm picking up the car at 2:00.  I will post pics as soon as I can

got it back home a little while ago.  I have some issues such as no headlights yet.  they got smashed in the crash.  I bought the hella H1 and H4 housings and bulbs but I need to wire in some relays to keep the car NOT on fire...

flex plate bolts loosened up and wallowed out the holes in the flex plate so I have to change that.

I drove it home and it did drive like a dream. turns out I had a steering issue with one of the bolts that holds the box to the k frame not being secure, they had to weld a new nut on to the K so it would grab...

anyway, here's the pics.  It looks great..except for a scratch on the pass lower fender very close to the ground.  I though I might have hit something on the way home, but I took a few pics of it at the body shop and when I downloaded and zoomed in, the scratch was there thank god.  The shop is going to fix it but I want to drive it for a while and have to get the mechanicals sorted out before it goes back.

even with that stuff, I love it.  it's like a different car. drives better, all new weatherstrips and some sound deading makes it quieter inside and it looks killer.

This Charger right here is a one of none, that means none before it, none to come.

dkn1997

ok....so I tightened up my flexplate bolts and used some locktite... they were tight when I left body shop today and were loose by the time I got home....  fast forward to my loctite treatment and drove around with no issues.. still will probably have to change the flexplate.

I am very happy right now, even with my ghetto cruiser lower on the right side valance cody!!    ;D

those are actually my old torque thrust 2 whells on there...and I'm kind of in love with them again....
a guy in the neighborhood has coyes wheels from his roadrunner that are almost identical in style, but 20's and 18's. he's going to let me try them out for a week and see If I like them. best part is that they are already sized for a 70 B body...
