Thanks friend.
The number on the block is 9 - 8 - 63 (looks like 65) so is that a 63 block manufacture date?
and...  :scratchchin: how many litres would that be, would I be right in thinking that the block is 440 cubic inches? I'm in England and we dont understand cubes only that there is no substitute for lots of them :icon_smile_big:

Thanks again for the info :icon_smile_big:

7.2 liters. And yes, it is 440 cubic inches  :yesnod:  Oh, and welcome to the site!  :2thumbs:

P.S. the number on the block is 9-8-65, and translates to September 8, 1965 as a casting date.

Hey Ray,
It was goin in my kit car which is a shortened TVR taimar chassis with a plastic frogeyed (bugeyed) sprite body on it :drool5: but...maybe getting a gearbox this week, maybe not.
Alternative plan is to stick it in the Land Rover and use the 3.5 for the kit car, all up in the air at the moment.
I'm in Cheshire so not too far away.
Could look for a Charger but too many projects and not enough cash. :icon_smile_big:

what you got? :popcrn:

Well,
Things not what they were, my son sadly passed away in March this year and I'm clearing everything out as I don't have the inspiration that he gave me any more.
So, the 440 project is no more and the engine and the bits that it came with have gone on ebay.
Sorry to see it all go as I was looking forward to seeing the beast run but I cant do it alone, it's selling at a penny at the moment with no reserve so someone will get a load of spares cheap I hope.
BTW, this engine has double valve springs, is that standard on the 440, any one know please.
Thanks.
