Well after busting my @$$ for two semesters, a couple hundred dollars spent, two weeks of working non-stop and 56 hours straight with no sleep, I finally finished my senior design project on Friday morning at 7am and gave the presentation at 10. It's not quite finished yet for the little details I want to fix but the hard part is over. It will eventually get powder coated. Here's a couple pics:

looks nice, most likely better quality than one of those you could buy from harbor freight or even craftsman.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Cool!!! :icon_smile_big:

No bracing from the top of the lift to the bottom?

Thanks for all the compliments. I've got A LOT of blood, sweat, tears and hard earned money into that beast.

It is pretty heavy duty. It's designed to handle 6000 lbs. All of the tubing is 3/16" wall. The main boom tube is 1/4" laser cut plate welded together.

See the specs above. It's all USA made steel.

The braces were off for the last pics. They're laying in the garage on the workbench.

Due to the fact that I was not the only person working on this project and the amount of hours we have into the design of this hoist I cannot post the plans. Also, I have roughly about $1500-$2000 into the entire project so economically speaking this hoist isn't something everyone is going to want to pay for. I essentially chock the cost up to part of my education...

At first, i thought you were building a cart for a k-frame with engine and tranny ready to bolt up to the bottom of your Charger.

Nice work, now get working on your Charger.

Yeah, saw the first pic and thought it was a frame for a street rod.

Either way, congrats on getting it done!  :2thumbs:
