Get the car home (on it´s way now)! Unpack all the parts!!! :D
Drive it for a couple of days, tear it apart, and start sheetmetal and mock up work!!
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Well... MR ANGRY is staying "as is" for now... no changes. As for ANGRIER - well... he's getting a blown 6.1 HEMI and Viper T6060 Transmission as well as full cage. Should be interesting...   :rotz:

My Challenger's getting a new dash pad, v top color changed & the correct bumblebee stripe.

Charger's getting a new dash wiring harness & heater core.

But it won't be a winter project.  I put everything off till the last minute so I'm thinking spring plans.

Got a few more pesky mechanical items to knock out, hopefully on some good weather days before the end of the year.  Then I'm going to get some body work done, with a goal of new paint this Spring.  :paintingpink:

Fingers crossed!

for the first time since i have owned it. my 73 is at  home in the garage instead of packed away in storage for the winter. I have been cajoled into entering it to the 2009 Autorama, so now during the winter I will be able to prep it

Lets see...on the '68 add a reverse indicator light, find the short in the dash that has left me gaugeless, install an RTE limiter, change the oil and filter, install the rebuilt brake booster (by Dewey), fix (or rather plug the "cheater" holes) in the recently purchased correct air cleaner assembly (see photo below), have the steering wheel rebuilt (probably by stwheels), switch tires from the fronts of my '73 to the back of the '68 (better stance on both) and install a recently purchased and rebuilt 043 radiator. Oh, and drive the car at least once a week.  :D  If I get 3 of these task done I'll be happy....

On the '73 fix the A/C (much smaller list!) and drive it every other week (the '68 does have the 4-speed, after all....).

You have to love the California weather....

P.S. If Santa comes through I'll be getting a Brewers Performance modified Hurst Shifter for my Inland handle. http://www.brewersperformance.com/products.asp?id=50 and maybe get that in also.  :2thumbs:

Why add the reverse light?  Is it an early production?

It was built on December 26, 1967. Are you saying that all 1968 4-speed Chargers did not have reverse indicator lights?

drive the hell out of it

. in between that im going to replace the SS leaf springs with a pair of split monoleafs, finish welding on my torque boxes and finish up the interior. I might get a new steering box as well mines a tiny bit loose feeling.

then in the spring, I have to make a big decision about whether to replace my rear quarterpanels or 'fix' the ones I currently have.

There was a '68 Charger that was being picked apart and I mentioned it didn't have the reverse light so I questioned the authenticity of it being a real 4 gear, then that Coronet R/T dude that knows a lot mentioned what I thought was a shifter change came with the reverse light.  :shruggy:
I only mentioned something cause I thought you were an original type.

Sorry for the 'jack.

4 gear and A/C, hmmmm?  There's no reverse light on the dash either, another hmmmm?

Didn't the reverse lights appear with the change over to the Hurst shifters? The VIN looks like it would be early enough to have the Inland....

Hmm, did not know that! And yes, I'm kind of an "original" type dude when it comes to the details. I will investigate further. Are there other sources regarding the usage of reverse indicators (anyone? I'll start a new thread on this)? I'm guessing since the Hursts don't have lock outs (like the Inlands) how else would the driver know that they are in reverse (aside from easing the clutch out, that is?  :P )?

Brian  (mod ) recommended Permatex Liquid Teflon on the bolts to me.  I used their high temp sealer and it didn't last more than 5 months.  As for changing oil, my thought is the stuff is millions of years old, it won't spoil.  Oil never changes state. Oil will be oil for a million more years.  The only thing that happens to oil is the chemicals that change the thickness from thin to thick wear out.  A buddy of mine went to school for Shell and it explained it to me.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
