I'm not sure I would use a single plane on a stock rebuild but I am of the opinion that the Street Dominator is an excellent intake.

flyinlow

When I run the SD. on mine I have a four hole carb spacer under the thermoquad , Supose to help low end drivabilaty.

Ghoste

I have a four hole spacer under mine too but with that ill suited camshaft of mine, drivability is still a moot subject.

(No Ron, I still haven't changed it  :icon_smile_blackeye:)

Bob, why the big rush ? Are you ready to fire the engine right now ? I'd still hold out for a CH4B if at all possible....definately worth the wait.

If you absolutely, positively had to have an intake manifold at your door this week then the Wiend action+ would be my second choice...for your application.

BOB , i found this one on EBAY but he wants way to much for it .

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrysler-440-intake-factory-CHR-2836149-Edelbrock_W0QQitemZ180314576403QQihZ008QQcategoryZ34202QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

i Emailed him this

" your auction says local pick up only , will you ship the intake ? also will you take $125.00 for the CH4B mainly because that is the market value for that style of intake . "

lets  see what he says .

maybe you could Email him and ask if he will do a buy it now for $125.00

chances are the guy wont budge on the price and just keep listing it for $250.00 like alot of other jerks do on Ebay thinking their shit is the last of its kind .  :flame:

the guy's name looks like "coward13",  and he has 0% postive feedback.   ya, right

really, I would worry about sending that guy any money, even if he agrees to 125

Well apparently I got screwed on ebay for the first time. I bought a torquer on December 23 and still haven't seen it or the jerk who sold it to me. Now I'm stuck again and looking. I cant afford a new one right now so if anybody has any leads lemme know please.

If I were to buy a new one (in a few weeks) what would be the best new one for my application:

73 charger
440, stock pistons, shaved heads, lunati can, holley 750, hooker racing headers.

Did you pay with PayPal? if so open a dispute and they will withdraw the money from his account and hold it until the dispute is resolved.. If there is no money in his account the will put a neg balance on his account

Found this on Ebay Bob.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/N-O-S-Edelbrock-CH4B-Chrysler-Mopar-RB-440-Intake_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ200295747325QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

$200.00  :rotz: thats about $60.00 to much  :rotz:

That does seem a little high but this is a new/never installed piece and they aren't making these anymore.  ;)

Bob could easily end up paying more for a new manifold that won't work as well.  :P

At that price i would be all over it...especially if it was the right part for my build.  :yesnod:

new, and like ron said, a lot of manifolds cost more than that, that aren't as good or what you want,
CH4B, mad rare Jay, mad rare            are prices going up on these things?  supply and demand,  seems like there haven't been to many on the market lately,   :scratchchin:

It does seem like there are less and less of these available these days. I guess that cat is out of the bag....they work very well and are highly desirable.  :yesnod:

The one in the E-bay auction is also a vintage Chrysler piece and has the part number stamped into it. Back in the Direct Connection days this was an over the counter speed part....very cool.

Like i said earlier...manifolds that don't perform as well sell for more cash than this one....
