Going to Detroit in the beginning of December. Going to drive past the Lynch Road build plant which built all the '66 Chargers, along with GTXs, Roadrunners, Super Bees, etc. And I'll actually get to go inside the CSF building on Huber street, right up the road, which was Chrysler's foundry in the '60's for engine blocks, axles, and other automotive components. Cool stuff!

That would be...

17630 East 10 Mile Road, Eastpointe, MI

Might be worth a stop...

It's just a short hop up the freeway and you've already done the Chrysler Museum.  :icon_smile_wink:

It does sound like a great trip.I went up in 96,before my son was born,by myself. My cousin took a few days off of work and I proceeded to get the 2.00 tour of the area.I went to Meadowbrook,Roush's facilities,Greenfield Village-The Henry Ford Museum,Henry's home,Edsel Ford's home and The Rouge plant. It makes my wife really mad because I tell everyone that it was the best vacation that I ever had.Have a great time and don't forget the pictures.JW

Right where that red A is on Map at Mt Elliot & Huber is where I used to work. That is or was MSX (now) Was Masco-Tech when I worked there, was also known as Creative Industries before Masco-tech. Many of the office doors, ect still had Creative Industries plaque/name tag on the doors. We used to build Vipers, Prowlers, Detroit Auto Show showcars & many oddball Prototype concept cars when I was there. For lawn decoration purposes was the Venom & Banshee  :o & many other funky cars laying around but a Camera was off limits, I snuck some shots on a Saturday anyways but didn't get much without a flash & lights off. :scratchchin: LEON.

If I'm not mistaken there was 2 if not 3 locations that Creative Industries worked out of. Or at least they had another facility other than the one one 10 mile road, i know they had one on 7 mile road as well.

Intreresting site, The place on 10 mile used in 60's looks small. They must of upgraded to larger facility on outer drive in 70's & then upgraded to larger again in 80's. I had a Friend in 80's that worked at the outer drive plant & tried to get me a job there. If I remember right it was by Mound road & Outer Drive. There is a huge Chrysler plant there & just north of there & another just east of that one also. When I worked at Mascotech in 90's the building was 350,000 square feet, pretty big. some said it was part of the old Packard plant but not sure. It's a coincedence that I now work only 1/2 mile from the 10 mile plant & live a mile from Outer Drive plant :scratchchin: LEON.
