I installed a rebuilt 727 recently and it's developed a serious leak that's coming thru the dust cover. When I start the car, it immediately starts to puddle oil underneath. I'm just curious if this could possibly be due to the torque convertor not being seated all the way. I went from the stock one to a TCI when I installed it. I've seen shims available that supposedly space the convertor from the flex plate. Is this a possibility to leak if the convertor isn't seated all the way? I'm hoping to avoid pulling the trans to have the pump oil seal inspected/replaced.

I would guess that the pump has damage to the bushing that supports the converter. Probably need to pull the trans and have a looksy.  :Twocents: Kyle

Seal damage or pump bushing . if its leaking out of the bellhousing while running, your  going to have to pull the trans.
