Measurements for Auto to manual conversion?

Hi all,

Ive been searching for a thread I remember from a while ago where someone had posted the measurements for replacing the auto trans tunnel with a manual one.  It mentioned where to cut, weld, etc in pretty good detail.  Can someone point me in the right direction? Ive tried searching for it, but no luck.

Thanks in advance,

MS

Troy

You mean just to put in a hump? The whole tunnel isn't different. The easiest way is to drop the new hump on there (it only fits in one position) and trace around it. Remove the hump and cut 1/2" inside the line that you traced. That's probably not exact but it's very close.

This may be the thread you were looking for:

I thought there was a more detailed version but I can't find it either.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

There's measurements?? :scratchchin:
I just bought a repro four-speed shifter hump and put it in where it fit the floorpan.
I cut the remaining floor out from under it.
Maybe I screwed up?

I think one outfit pretty much makes the humps that everyone sells---but there could be some variation.  But Troy is right.  Get the hump first.  Once you have it in hand, it will be immediately obvious what he is saying.  It really only fits in one way.
