I ran across a 5.7 Hemi on Craigslist with a harness for $600. I was contemplating dropping it in either the 68 Charger RT or the 67 Coronet RT. I would prefer the 6.1 Hemi if I could find one but this seems like a decent deal. He said it was out of a truck. The only hang-up is that it might have a rod knock. Is it worth the $600?

Thanks!

cores are worth about 300.00  with harness maybe alittle more , with computer maybe 500. But not 600

they like to drop values right down hard on the piston !!   :Twocents:   could be the problem ?

talk the guy down to $500 and take it...   the SRT8 harnesses for $999.95 so the 5.7 Harness is most likely comparable ---   I got a 6.1L hemi with a rod knock and got new bearings and crank for less than $500.00...     they are easy engines to build...        dropping in a 5.7 or a 6.1 into a muscle car is a rather costly endeavor...     ask me how i know...     but anyway - i'd say pick it up if its what you want.
