Okay, this has been bugging me for a while. In mopar magazines, I have seen so many dealer installed options on rare cars. Everything from underdash players of all kinds (Cassette Recorder?) to vinyl roofs (green Daytons with white vinyl). What I am asking is were dealer installed options something regulated by Chrysler, or did the dealer just slap on whatever he had in stock/ wanted to?
Everything I have seen dealer installed on cars in magazines/ on here:
Vinyl Roof
Six Pack Carburetor
Underdash 8-Track Player
Underdash Cassette Player
Underdash Cassette Recorder
CB Radio
Air Conditioning
Trailer Hitch
Different Gears
Third Gen Rear Spoiler

Also, if you have anything dealer installed on your car from a 8-Track player to a trailer hitch, lets see pictures!

Click on accessories catalog(Top line). That is a small portion of what a dealer would install.

Doug, I have the catalog. I just haven't had time to scan and post it on HH. It should be coming soon.

Is there something specific you'd like to see?
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Wing, dealers then and now would be willing to install about anything you wanted in order to sell a car.  The Chrysler accessory catalog is only the tip of the iceberg.  So no, they weren't regulated by Chrysler, only by the customers imagination and willingness to pay.
