a friend of mine is selling his 74 charger its a 318 4bbl  W/AC auto the body is complete and looks solid exept for the typical rust ont he floor panels and trunk, he said the engine ran when he first bought it but he took it apart to replace some old parts for new ones fuel pump, water pump, radiator etc.....he hasent fineshed putting it all back together but he said theres no reason it shouldnt run once it all back together. all it needs is just the alt. radiator, and carb, wich he has and is giving away with the car. the dash is all there exept for the radio, he took out the front (bench) seat and carpet and most of the headliner to check for rust. im not shure if its #'s matching. the car is brown and had a white vinyl top wich he cut off to check for rust, the grill has a chip wich can be  fixed. he was planing in makeing it a R/T clone but with twins on the way he had a change of plans, the VIN ont he dash says *WH23646233180*. i took a TON of pics but cant get them to post  :brickwall: I think the size is too big (833 KB) if anyone knows how to fix that plaease let me know anyway hes asking 3,500 for the whole enchilada, what do the experts think?

I think that's a little high on the price.    :Twocents:   I would say $1500--$2000   :shruggy:

The easiest way to resize pics without messing with programs is as follows:

Go to imageshack.us

Check the box for "resize image" and select the size you want. Typically 800x600 works fairly well but I wouldnt go higher than 1024x768 or the guys with old screens will raise hell haha.  :nana: :D

I'll have to agree with skip68. If it was running and driving I might go $2,000, but right now all you have is his word that it ran before, plus you have to reassemble it. Offer him $1250 and go from there.

By the way, I am going to guess that the VIN is "WH23G4G233180".  The 6's in the number should be letters. The 5th digit is probably a G which means it was a 318 2 barrel carb from the factory. The 7 digit is probably a G also, which probably means it was built at the St. Louis plant. I am not sure about the plant though. I only have a book which shows VIN number breakdown for '69-'71 cars.

Forget all my previous posts. The guy is trying to rob you blind. I would only give him $500 and that is if it was all put back together and running.(Just saw the rest of the pics)

Damn, that's alot of rust.  Floors are shot.  I'd say that car is a parts car.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Fitz73Chrgr

I'm going to have to change my mind, that is a ton of rust, I bought my 73 318 car virtually rust free for $1200.

Yeah will have to agree with everyone here.   That car is pretty shot.   You would be better off buying something that didn't have so much rust, mainly due to the fact that you will be doing a lot of cutting and welding just to make what your can't find.

BB1

Looks more like a car to scrap than anything else.  :hack:

Now if it was a 2nd gen then then that's a whole new ball game.  :2thumbs:  ;)
