Hey hey. For some stupid reason I am having trouble with my gasket on the water neck. It keeps leaking. Not a waterfall or anything, but it does leak. I changed the housing last year with the gasket. I used some type of copper gasket seal. I globbed it on like the directions said, but it leaked again. Now I used another type that is I think Silicone RTV, but it said to put on a 8th inch bead to only one side. Now it leaks again. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I feal stupid I can't get such a simple thing going.....

Usually the problem is cheap chrome water necks that actually warp.

You can probably put it on a belt sander and flatten it back out - it may work.
Some people swear by cast iron replacements for the stock look.
Other people like aluminum necks ( see 440source.com ).
I have a polished stainless from weldtech but they had a big price increase last I checked  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Dang. You know the one I replaced was a chrome one too. Hmm I guess I will have to look into the iron one. Thanks.

I had the same problem and even after sanding it flat I had the same small leak. I fixed it by clamping it in a vice and putting a revers warp in it so when it was installed it flatten out. Good luck!

The flange on my 440 source water neck is pretty thick. I'm thinking it should be good...
