What kind of responses do you guys get to your Craigslist ads. I put a 383 and tranny on there and have gotten three emails wanting my full name, address, cell phone number and asking if I will take certified check. They will have a driver pick up. All this is written in english, but english like you would get from a scammer in Nigeria or someplace like that. Has anyone dealt with this much. I also put pickup only, but they all seem to be far away. One says he is in Pheonix, AZ. They sound like scammers, but I am not sure. What do you guys think?

yes its a friggn SCAM dont even reply to their Emails .

think about it , when you buy something do you need all that info from the seller ? so why would somebody need it from you . other than you phone # and a street addy when they pick it up or look at it .

Yep cash in person, only way to go with craigslist.  I did sell something to a guy across the country once but it was small and easily mailed... I could tell it was legit and he paid with paypal before I did anything.

I get those scammers all the time. Tell them CASH ONLY!!! They wanted me to send a trans somewhere far away. Come on you can get one closer  ::) They just want to send a cashiers check so you go and cash it and boom 10 days later it is worthless.......just like those bastard themselves. They always act like they have a middle man so if you won't be able to I.D. them. They will say - My transport guy will be in your area  ::) Bla Bla Bla. I don't even respond to them.

Thanks guys. I did not respond to them because I felt it wasn't legit. Just thought I would get other input.

I put a lot of stuff up on there and have not yet gotten a scammer! Why not? :flame:  I'd just tell them to meet somewhere and never show up. You can tell it is a scam generally with the use of poor english, or asking if someone can bring you anything other than cash!

Not much else you can do except maybe bring your own gun. :shruggy:

I just get tired of all the guys who try to blame their wives for having to sell something. "Wife says it needs to go." "Too many toys, need to sell one to get the wife off my back." Etc., etc. What a bunch of weeners. That or they're liars.

I heard the story on here a while back - my husband died and I need to sell the car ASAP and I am real busy now....bla bla bla. I think that was on a Charger. Well last night there was a 442 for 6K and I got the same email. I asked where was the car was and I got back a full page email about the car but she never told me where it was at but wants to unload it soon....ok  ::)
