I don't normally go for the billet/3-piece wheel/low profile tire look on classic musclecars, but that 3rd gen looks mighty nice!

I bet it'd look even more evil if the same outer diameter & width wheel/tire setup was pulled off using higher profile rubber.  That would absolutely ROCK.

Mr. Howell knows his stuff!  He's doing that car up like I wanted to do the 73....before I realized that 10 - 15 thousand dollars just in suspension modifications was not going to happen on my budget.  I am now living vicariously through his build.    Maybe he'll start a thread about his car specifically.....that thing has some really sick stuff going on.

I think Autodynamics and Mr.Angy and a few others did their homework and got the look right. There are others that really got it wrong. I really don't like the look of the sublime '70 Charger in page 1.
While I'm playing it conservative by putting 325/50-15 on my Charger instead of 18x??, I do agree with Autodynamics. There are few things lamer than a nice Charger with "space-saver spare" looking factory sized tires.

Too many additions or too refined
Muscle cars should never be too refined
I have always said there is a very fine line in wheel size stance and color

yep...youd get laughed at if you showed up at a late model show/cruise and tried to show off your 18" "DUBS". And actually, even 20's are starting to be come passe, since some cars (Challengers, Chargers, 300's) come with them from the factory anyway.

i might be an old timer, but i like the way our cars looked when they came out of the factory. just like big wheels look good on the new cars, 15" wheels would look like crap on them. to me big ass wheels just draw your attention to them, instead of blending with the car, they just stand out. when i see a nice musclecar with big wheels, i think to myself, wow those are big wheels. when i see a nice musclecar with the correct wheels, i think wow what a nice car. it all needs to be in balance... you youngins need to stop messing up our cars..

I'm sorry to say but you represent the mopar community that quite frankly turns me off about these cars
When I go to a car show and see a stack of chargers that all look the same with different colors that just screams BORING!!!!
Same interior- boring.
Same wheels - boring
Same close mind thinking-boring

These cars in the 60's were cool and guys changed wheels and exhaust and shocks
Were simply Doing the same thing with what's available today


Fact be said
These cars never did anything right other than go straight and look bad as hell
But stock doesnt intrest me at all
I want a car that drives like my new car turns like my new car stops like my new car
Although there is a place for purist and "stock " cars ,it certaintly does not say anything about self expression and individuality . I don't want to look like the guy next to me or around me
Pro touring is hot rodding making the old better
Better to use and enjoy them with our families and friends
And safer as well stopping turning are some key factors on keeping these cars safe for the road
We just have taken I to. Different level using the best gear we can suspension
Brakes ,Wheels ,seats ,motors and so on
The "new generation " gets it the "old timers" in the mopar community get  tight assed and look down on others for using "non-factory " parts
What's with the mopar world being so close minded?

I have simply put together my idea of what MY charger should be and expresses that standing still

I get followed every time I take it out like paparazzi.

Stock cars don't get that attention

So I guess I have done something right with my ride
When I always get "dude is it for sale"
My charger as well as others on this board that are not factory keep me returning
If all I had to look foward to is stock cars I simply would stay home and watch my black and white tv and chill

Ohh wait I don't own a black and white tv or rotary phone
I live today
Express what I love and feel today

AutoDynamics : It's all good, in the end we all love our cars and it is just a difference of opinion.

My stock cars get plenty of attention and offers every time I take them out.  I put my modification money into horsepower.
