I am pretty sure the R/T stopped in '71... looks like a Rallye to me....

The seats look like they are out of a cordoba and the steering wheel was on sale at Canadian Tire for $20 last I checked  :shruggy:

in an effort to thoroughly answer your question...absolutely not!!! do not be fooled...dodge discontined the R/T in 1971 and was relpaced in 72 w/ the ralley model.  its def a clone car, and if they posted the vin, (which they didn't, any suspicion there? :whistling: hm??) so while it is a sweet car, best believe it isn't a real R/T, but again, it is a sweet ride.

here is the documentation to prove it...straight out of the product brochure for 1972...

On a note, you can't clone something they never made.
I have a 71 Challenger Convertible that I badged as a R/T.  They never made 71 Challenger R/T Convertibles so you can't say I cloned it, can you ?

Foreman72

then you would be correct, yes...my bad...so lets car it a dream car then...

The difference between me and this guy (72 Charger R/T) is that i would not be selling it as a R/T. :Twocents:

FLG

Deff not an R/Y...also dont know about you, but a 672 HP charger with all that rubber should run better then 12.80's on the 1/4 mile IMO.

i told him kindly there was no such thing and he told me I was an idiot and dodge did make a 72 R/T. :icon_smile_blackeye:

Drache

I fired off a message to him as well just now so maybe with more than one person telling him he might agree? I also sent a link to this post as well....

Man I get tired of hearing that one. They're about as rare as the 72-74 Challenger R/T's that are always popping up for sale...

konigcharger

that car has been on ebay on and off for like three years... there have been other threads about it. IIRC its not even a Rallye

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

KMPX2

They did sell R/T's after 1971 just not here in the US. You guys do remember NachoRT74 from this board??

Hemidoug

I sent this.....

Could you please provide the first 7 digits of the VIN? I would be very interested in purchasing this car IF it turns out to be a 1972 R/T........That would be one very rare car indeed.....Please provide any documentation that this is an R/T you might have as well...the more documentation the higher I would be willing to go....

:D

Let's see what the butt hole has to say with a little bait dangling.....

If he bothers to educate himself......he doesn't seem like he enjoys facts though......

Yeah my grandfather once told me before he passed away; "If one person calls you an asshole that is their opinion, but if one hundred people call you an asshole it just might be true!"

I have a feeling the guy KNOWS this isnt a real R/T but is just trying to get more money out that way....
