im still running hot according to the gauge electric aftermarket it gets up to around 230 on electric gauge aftermarket when i just it down it spits out the overflow tube just a little more like a drip i dont hear any gurgling coming from  radiator at all i would think at 230 it should be spewing all over or am i wrong? i just dont want to blow up this motor it dont even have 200 miles on it yet

be sure you are running 50-50 antifreeze and water....the antifreeze also acts as an anti-boil, raising the boiling point past 212.... :Twocents:

Get an inrared heat gun and measure the temps. Compare the numbers between the upper and lower hoses....there should be a 30* difference between the inlet and outlet. If not...the rad is plugged or doesn't have enough cooling capacity.

It's also possible you have an air pocket in the cooling system or a stuck thermostat. Get the car up on ramps and start it up with the rad cap off and leave it like that until the coolant starts circulating. Keep an eye open for bubbles in the coolant. Air pockets often form at the back of the engine and will not bleed out....raising the front end forces the air pocket forward into the rad and out when the cap is off. By doing this you are effectively "burping" the cooling system.

both radiator and thermostat are brand new so a clog isnt likely altho i havnt tried burping it as you say but im gonna try that virtually everything under the hood of this car is brand new motor has maybe 200 miles on it now  new water pump hoses etc etc

My rebuilt 440 runs nice and cool when it's cool out but the heat creeps up as the day temp rises.  I have the Mopar flex fan kit and shroud also.  I believe  these cars run on the hot side generally anyway from people i've talked to.   New motors run hot also, give er some time to break in, I can tell a difference now that the motor has about 1,800 miles on it.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
