440 6 pack progressive linkage?

Can anyone tell me where I can get a kit to do away with the vacuum on the end carbs and convert it to mechanical/progressive linkage on a 440 6 pack?  I saw an ad somewhere a while back, but now that I need it I can't seem to find it.
Also can someone tell me if a stock hood will clear this on a 69 charger, right now it has a big hole with a six pack scoop.   Thanks for any help,  Dale

it's interesting that you want progressive (mechanical) rods on your 6pak....are you working with 69 1/2 model year carbs? they had some sticking problems and wouldn't open smoothly...the shaft on the throttle plates was sticky, and a few friends tried mechanical linkage...if you have the newer carbs, which you can identify by the green coating on the throttle shafts, you are far better off by leaving them vacuum actuated...holley makes a trackpack of various pressure springs that fit inside the vacuum pots, and this is the best way to seek maximum performance from your six pack....in my humble opinion...that, along w other goodies, let me run my 69 1/2 superbee thru the traps at 101 mph and 12 flat consistantly... :Twocents:

i agree with craig,i would leave it  with vaccum.like craig said you can change the springs
to get them to open faster.you could go with such a light spring that you could make it bog
when it opens.if you do mech. you have to add accelerator pumps to the outboard carbs.
the little pump on the center carb is not enough gas when you force all three carbs open at once
(BOG).thats why the vaccum works well,it only gives fuel as the motor can take it.

Mechanical linkage without an accelerator pump is a recipe for bogging....tune it with vacuum.  :Twocents:

:iagree: i ran mechanical linkage on my stock six pack carbs years ago and it was bog city, so keep the vacuum pods and work with them.

There use to be a company called "Six Packs To Go" that did a great job modifying the original 6-Paks... adding proggresive linkage, accellerator pumps, etc.

Thanks guys for all your help and advice.  What about the air cleaner to hood clearance?  Is there any different air cleaner assy's, or are they pretty much the same as far as height is concerned?  Thanks again, Dale

The stock air cleaner assembly clears the hood just fine in my 70 R/T  :2thumbs:
