Hello Mopar friends,

I want to share a few pictures of the restoration of my 73 Charger.  I bought this car 27 years ago from King, North Carolina when I was 15 years old with paper route money,  the car was Gold with Parchment Interior and had 89,000 miles on the 400 motor.  When I was old enough to drive I put an additional 8,000 miles on the car before I started tearing it down.  The restoration started in 1998 and I just finished this past month.  Reason for taking so long was kids, work, money, you know the usual.

I am a POR-15 nut.  I loaded my car up with this stuff.

Used Acrylic Enamel in and under the car and base coat clear coat on outside.

I did swap my 400 motor for a 440.  I had the 440 punched out .030 over,  port and polished the heads, Mopar Single Plane Intake with and 850 Holley. I went with the MP .484 cam and thinking I should have went with the Mp .509.  I took my existing oil pan and made it a 7 quart pan.  I am running a Carter Mechanical Fuel Pump.  I bought the Flowmaster exhaust kit from summit seeing they are 5 miles down the road from me. That was a poor fitting exhaust system.

I ended up buying a Buldge hood for the car thanks to BMOXSTER.

The wife and I installed the Vinyl Top I let it sit out in the sun to help get rid of the wrinkles.  I bought all new carpet, seat covers, headliner from Legendary, the Dash was sent to Just Dashes in California and recovered, And I dyed my upper door panels and bought all new kick panels and lower door panels from Year One.  At some point I will take some interior shots. My carpet did not come out to good i think they sent me carpet for another car,  unfortunately I bought all my interior 8 to 9 years ago and did not think they would take it back.

Here are some final pictures.  I am not 100% done with the car yet.  I just installed the 440 Magnum Logo's on the hood (not pictured here).

Thanks for checking out my photo's.  I wish I would have taken more progress pictures while doing this.

Ohio Plates! Where you at. I am from Ohio.

Sharp car. I like the red. Where did you get the vinyl material for the roof? Did you cut it, or was it already done?

ViperRedCharger

I am in Kent, Ohio near Akron.  I got the top from Legendary, and I had to trim it in myself.
