I read through quite a few of the grill archives but I`m still not sure what the correct answer is. What is the correct color for the grill frame for a 1968 Charger? The color of the car is black. Someone told me gloss black, others have told me satin black, and other have told me the top plate would be gloss black and the rest of it semi-gloss black. I`m confused, what is the correct color to use?

Shakey

I used Eastwood's Under Hood black.

It is my belief they were a semi-gloss black, similar to the sheen on modern black e-coated parts. They weren't a full flat black, they had some gloss to them.
I prefer to over-do it, so I did mine with an automotive urethane, such as PPG Deltron or DuPont ChromaOne.  :coolgleamA:
