The government sent out "economic stimulous" checks... I think the best way to stimulate the economy would be to lower gas prices. More people would go on trips, vacations, and spend money shopping while on trips. Even if folks still stayed at home, they would splurge a little more on things with the money they were saving on gas cost. Thats to simple to do I guess.

you gonna sell any of them?

I was thinking the same thing.  Not sure how many Mopars you have but perhaps you could sell one or more, take the proceeds and take the family on vacation and then use whatever money is left over for some cruisin'!

I cant afford to drive mine either.  I put a few gallons of gas in the other day and the tank started leaking again in the night, leaked all my gas out on the ground...  damn that wasnt cheap.  Im just glad it didnt ignite.   :brickwall:

Hell, it is costing me $25.00 a day to go to work at $4.02 a gallon :image_294343:

Where I have to go to work, It normally would cost me only $30.00 a week when gas was $2 a gallon. And it has now come to the point of, either I buy gas and go to work, or buy food, and have no money for gas :rotz:

Actually the price is not the real problem, the problem is how fast it goes up!

Since 2002 gas prices went up by 50% in Germany but in California by incredible 150%. So if you commute and paid let's say 150 Euros each month for gas in 2002 it's 225 Euros now. That sure is bad enough but say you paid 150 Dollars in California per month you now have to pay 375 bucks! That's 225 bucks more each month! Who would have predicted that and thought about it when calculating how high his loans could be?!?

Gas must have bumped up frikin 8 cents over night due to Momorial day.

I made it a point not to buy gas today. Not that it won't make a difference but it made me feel good anyway knowing that I wasn't paying for the Momorial day gouging. I'll pay it later.

Unless you have an extremely rare desirable car [Hemi Cuda Convert.for example], now is not the time to sell. People who got into the collector car hobby as an investment are loosing their A$$es right now. market is way down. I'm trading one of mine for a 4x4. People are holding onto their cash right now, except for filling up.

I was gonna take a quick run this morning before I went to fix an elevator, and I actually thought about there goes another 10.00 just to get a coffee and past on it.  Last night I went to a cruise, I have to drive it less but I will drive it.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

The dump truck job. It won't be so bad once I get something with a 4 or 6cyl in it.

I've been working on, but need to finish my Scamp so I can spend a s**tload of money on gas to drive it. Right now the gas in the tank is from when gas was like $1.50 per gallon.  :smilielol:

Politics's.  Why are the Iraq's buying gas for a buck a gallon, when we buy the same gas overthere for 3.50>4.00 a gallon.  That Government owes us over 50 Billion dollars and has not paid us a red cent.  I say enough is enough and just take their blood oil since they won't repay a red cent.  :flame:

You can go and live there if you like.

I'm staying here were the air is clean, the gas is pricey and there are not roadside bombs going off on my commute to work.

ACUDANUT

Shakey, you missed the whole point.  I fought for this Country, so don't tell me where to live.

I drove my Charger 250 miles in the last two days. What's the problem? I get 10 miles per gallon. Last year that 25 gallons of premium would have cost me a bit over $75 and this year it cost me $103.50. That $28 is the equivalent of two CDs, one movie with a friend, a DVD, half a cell phone bill, four beers at a ball game, or one oil change at Jiffy Lube. It is also a miniscule drop in the bucket compared to what the cars cost me and there's no way I'm letting a running, driving car sit in the garage. I love Mountain Dew but the price is around $1.50 per bottle. If I cut out one bottle per day I can drive and extra 25 miles per week in my Charger. If I skip buying my $5 worth of lottery tickets twice per week (which I have still yet to win anything on) that's another 25 miles. So there, 50 miles per week paid for in full by making two very insignificant sacrifices. I don't wanna think about what I have to give up to get my other motor finished...

Just a friendly reminder... political discussions aren't allowed and, with it being an election year, the "lock" button is on a hair trigger.
