Great work! That smoothed out firewall looks sweet.   :drool5:  I might have to copy your polished wiper arms, looks so much nicer.

Oh yeah - I was polishing all the window trim and looked at my wipers and said...    "Oh hell no" those were not going on my car as they were...        I'm not going for an original car - may as well make it look nice...    took a while to polish them - but i think they look great compared to how they looked before - hense why i snapped the before and after picture...       :2thumbs:

Well - got some stainless steel plugs for the remaining two oxygen sensor bungs that I did not use. Installed them without issue - tomorrow I'm going to put some water in it and finish the wiring for the diagnostic port so I can use a programmer to alter the tune on the PCM ---   I also am probably going to start bleeding the brakes and clutch tomorrow so I can drive the beast around under its own power.

Today was spent putting some of the interior back in the car - I started with the door panels - they are old and definitely need to be replaced but for the time being I will be running them until I can get the coin for new reproductions. I went to my local dodge dealership and got bent over for a IAT sensor and little plastic mounts for my fuel rail covers...        Tomorrow I am going to tackle one of the remaining "big" things - making seat brackets to mount my bucket seats into the beast...   after that everything else should be fairly straight forward.    My car club is hosting a show on June 26th - hoping to have it ready for the show at that time -

Well - managed to get the seats fitted in...    I need to obviously make some center console brackets and put the carpet in and what not...     The seats are much more comfortable than the stock seats...    The bolsters should also be a nice addition during "spirited" driving...    I kept my seat selection simple...   no power, no air bags...     manually adjustable driver's seat --       Also a nice feature is reclining and folding forward - they also have more fore / aft travel than the stockers...

Tomorrow if I dont go pick up a 4-speed I'll be making some console brackets and working on some odds and ends...     I need to put a new turn signal switch in the column and finish up some wiring (radio, A/C controls)...      The engine bay will need to be cleaned up a bit here and there...       bleed the brakes and the clutch so I can actually drive this thing around...

I know you guys like pictures so here one of the seats...     nevermind the huge mess in the car ATM

Well -  not much progress today -  got my hydraulic clutch stuff mounted and bled...   that took a long time. Gave the car a half ass alignment so it is easier to push around. Finished a couple odds and ends on the wiring for the hemi...     Need to order a thermostat for it and some other odds and ends. Tomorrow after a job interview I plan to make some console brackets and figure out how else to keep busy...

Well - today I realized I had some welding to do...      I wanted to mount some nuts on the roof structure for shoulder belts (I plan on running some) but my car being a 68 it did not have the factory installed nuts. So I welded those in and fabbed a bracket to hold the center console.
I also wrestled with the overcenter spring back onto the clutch pedal -- I am running a diaphragm clutch from Centerforce and was worried about the spring keeping the pedal from returning...    I am running a hydraulic system and all is well in the world. Still has firm pedal effort as well - which is nice.

Tomorrow is headliner day I think...     kind of dreading that - plus I didn't think of putting the headliner in until after I installed the glass....        Also if time permits the carpet will be going in tomorrow.

Well, are you going to the show with it tomorrow?

The seats look comfy.   :2thumbs:  Will the backseat match, or is that a future endeavor?

I'm always looking for some thing to polish on.  I think I'll have to steal your wiper arm idea as well.
Will you be able to run the steel wheels with the big ass brakes you're running?

Lookin' good dude.

Rolling_Thunder

well right now i'm just running some SSBC 4 wheel discs at the moment --- just trying to get it on the road.   The show got pushed to July 17th - so plenty more time to wrap some stuff up.

The backseat will be stock for now

While installing the headliner I managed to break one of the bow retaining clips - so Today I need to try and weld it back together to get the headliner in - then onto the carpet

Well - today I went down to Classic Industries and picked up some interior rear window trim - my set of 6 pieces only came with 5...    figures...     have to wait until tuesday to go exchange it. I also got the window fuzzies and got them on...      I installed the carpet i've had in my shed for about 5 years - sill plates one - and got the rear seat put in...     Tomorrow I need to pull the steering column and permanently mount it and finish up the column wiring.

working on it ---

Had to go back and exchange the rear window trim I bought - it was missing a piece so went back and got a new set...   also got a turn signal switch and some other odds and ends. Not 100% what I need but it's close...     I can now finish the interior with what I have for the time being...     I will get new door panels, arm rests and bases later on but again - I'm trying to make a show on the 17th....

My hydroboost is leaking somewhere - so I need to tighten down the banjo fittings and see if that stops...     then just bleed the brakes and put in a battery -   :2thumbs:

Whoa - totally forgot about this thread...     Well I have gotten a bit done recently...

I got the headliner installed - not perfect but good enough for me.

I exchanged the window trim - that now came with an extra piece.

I modified my center console to look like a factory 4-speed piece.

I have my seats mounted.

I fired up my Hemi - I am currently fighting the security feature in the PCM - need some $$$ to purchase a computer that will work.

Removed the hydroboost (what a bitch) and fixed the leak...

So - I also wired up a factory oil press and temp sender so my stock gauges will work

Car is currently on money hold as usual...    If I get a PCM in the near future I'll be able to drive her that day as everything else is ready to go.
