Anyone? I need to mount a set of Hoosier QTP 28 x 11.50 slicks....the 8 inch rims are too narrow....suggestions?

I believe most folks have found that a 5" backspace is about right for a 15" X 10" rim.
At 5.5" you would probably be rubbing the springsĀ  :shruggy:... You really should just go out there and measure it for yourself, it is your car after all... just the same, I'm sure that others will chime in here.

I run a 18X10 with 5.5" backspace and have more than enough room. It does not rub anywhere.

My tire is a 295 40 18 just in case you might have wanted that too.

Like I said earlier, go measure it for yourself, it's the only way to be certain...

By the way, I have been sitting here running searches for the last hour, and almost all of what I have read so far leads to a 5" backspace on a 15X10 rim... Many rubbing issues reported with 5.5, yet obviously 5.5 works for some vehicles. All the more reason you should be checking it for yourself.

Dude...that web based program is SWEEEEET! I think I can get away with the 5.5 backspace. The tire isn't changing and they fit with an 8 inch rim. I've got an inch to play with between the tire and the spring. I don't think going to a 2 inch wider rim is going to make the sidewall grow all that much. I may just buy one at first to check it out. Thanks guys!

Here's another good one for you if you want to play...

Also keep in mind that the same tire by 2 different manufactures can have 2 diffrent widths.
