Anybody out there watching the live coverage of the Mecum Spring Classic? Quite an amazing collection of muscle cars have gone across the block... the '70 RT/SE Sunroof 440-6pk stalled out at $110k without hitting the reserve (only charger so far)... other mopars so far include a '70 Coronet R/T Hemi convertible (like $385k sold), a '69 1/2 MCode Road runner, and a blue Hemi Road Runner... stars of the show have been two ZL-1 Camaros and a bunch of Yenko cars... one of my favorites was a GTO Judge Convertible Ram Air IV 4-spd that went for an enormous number...

Sure it'll be replayed for those that are going to miss it - 7 hrs of coverage... not a bad way to spend a Sat. afternoon!

Yeah I've been watching that too.  They ran it Friday too and plenty of Mopars went through.  A couple of hemi cudas, a nice 71 RT.  I think there was even two 66 hemi plymouths.  I like the Mecum show much better than Barrett Jackson.  Don (?) Mecum actually runs around the floor as a bidder's assistant.  It seems to me it's more of a real auction, with reserve prices and such, and less of a corporate production like Barrett Jackson, with all it's shenanigans.

I can say though, after making it through the entire show, I'm feeling a lot better about Mopar values in general... the thing is though, this auction is packed with real quality cars and not with crap thrown in between and cars that look good just on TV...

'71 Charger R/T Hemi sold for $150k, last Hemi Cuda built closed the bid at like $525k, and other Hemi Cudas sold for $250k, 350k+... one somewhat original but modified Superbird sold for $100k, an A12 Runner for like $130k, and other 440 6pk/Hemi cars sold for great money in what's been called a "down" market... goes to show good cars will bring good money regardless...
