Ford here was busy building its  Ford Falcon which came in 4 D sedan. wagon and Ute (Ranchero)  in 66 /67 they brought out the "Mustang Bred Falcon "   First year with a 289 windsor option and a GT Sed which could be bought with a Toploader 4  Speed.   GMH brought out a MONARO Coupe which was an aussi only  body with a 327/saginor option . A guy just took one to Bonneville this year if you want to see what they look like.   Pickles/pale Yellow

Earnie  we have been working  but no6t a lot to show. Putting the doors back together takes a lot of time but dont show much, like putting fuel lines  and clips in,heater hoses and stuff.  Tim will post some photos when progress is a bit more obvious.  Had the guy from Mad Fabricators here today so you may see the car on there if you watch the show.   Cheers

hafta ask hows it going, that car is amazing, keep up the good work

QuoteLooks great Tim!   :drool5:

One thing though, and I could be wrong since its been a few years since I did my car, but looking at this picture I think you needed to put the stainless trim on the top edge of the quarterpanel before you put the window fuzzies on...  :shruggy:

richRTSE, you were spot on! Guess the enthusiasm got the better of us, trying to keep moving forward constantly does have its fallbacks..

The body man finished what he had left of the rear bumper and now it is now away at the chrome platers.

The auto electrician is still MIA.

Working the next couple of weekends but should see some more progress after that.

One thing I do have to ask about is, the window stoppers that are at the bottom of the door. On the two doors we have one appears to have holes for the stopper and one doesn't? The stopper we installed appears to be miles short of stopping the glass adequately? I have included photos in case I'm not explaining myself correctly.

Spent last Sunday at the Chryslers at the Carribean Gardens show, first time I've ever been, few cool cars there which I hadn't seen before some had disappeared before our car clubs photographer arrived.

You can check them out here http://www.60samcc.com/CRCA12/index.html

More to report soon..

The nose was assembled this weekend, very satisfying to see it all together and looking the part. This process would have been far more drawn out and painful had it not been for the help of a friend Andre       When doing our body work, the guys had placed some aluminum angle across the inner top edge of the headlight doors to straighten them. These had to be ground off due to clearance issues we were having with the headlight doors hitting the cone as the doors opened. Removing the aluminum angle resulted in the doors having quite a curve along the upper edge but probably being exactly how they were from Creative; forty odd years ago.

Loosing the transmission extension housing and replacing it with the GV overdrive unit presented us with the problem of no longer having a point to connect the shifter linkage to. This was overcome by making a bracket which attaches to the bolts at the rear of the sump. The skid plate has been powder coated and is on the car looking good.

The console was assembled, but again needs a few more bits and pieces added/played with until it's ready to go on the car.
It's all progress!

Think you'll still make Mopars on the Murry in March?

Aussie Charger, I'm not sure about Mopars on the Murray, it's not looking promising. Getting together to work on the car is what's holding up progress at the moment and I'm the guilty one as I just have to much on atm. I have given up on finding the cars history for now, I have explored every avenue I can think of and I'm damn close, but that isn't close enough... There is a guy who advertises a Mopar resto shop in Doylestown PA who I did email but never heard anything back maybe I'll try and ring him sometime? The car is in central Victoria near Bendigo, where abouts are you ?

The only thing that has really happened lately apart from getting the re chromed bumper back (which looks great apparently) was dad received a phone call from a gentleman he was doing some work for and in their discussion when he said he'd been to our town once before (interstate) when asked the reason the answer was, "to buy a 426 hemi". Now dad had told me about a guy with a 426 in town since I was a kid, when dad asked about the engine the guy said he kept it down in the city at a friends place. The guy had passed away and dad never knew what happened to the engine.

The story goes; when the guy was sick a friend of his offered the engine to this gentleman who he knew and they came to some agreement. When he arrived to collect the engine he found it was hidden in the floor of his shed!

So when asked what the 426 was now in the gentleman replied, a Dodge Daytona! The Daytona was originally a charger 500 with a nose and wing etc here are the pictures and info received in an email after the phone conversation..

Cheers, Tim.

I've been away for the last four weeks and just got engaged, with that in mind rest assure the car will be ready for when the big day comes around. At the moment my parents are selling their house and what spare time is available, is going into preparing for the move / getting the place they just bought ready. This project may be put on hold for some time :brickwall: we'll have to wait and see how things pan out over then next few months with the sale of the house etc.
