Pretty much sums it up.  May also want to consider larger torsion bars as well.   There maybe a few other things here and there to change but otherwise pretty simple.  I did it back in 1988 with my car and that was before I knew about Schumacher mounts..

TECHNICALLY since 73 K members are dif between SB and BB so would need to be changed. However since shumacher mount adaptors they set the engine on the propper location for diff K members

then, TECNICALLY, only Sway bars are diff bewteen engine size, being T bars the same. However being the age won't be bad make the T bar upgrade too

after that, need change or modify engine harness... modify would mean enlage dist and coil wires. Also I recomend enlarge water tem sender

if you get complete engine with miscelaneous, then you are fine... if not need the propper misc brackets

need to consider whet year engine is. 72 and earliers have lower water pump outlets on diff side, so if you consider keep earliers water pump housing, need modify or change the radiator too. Steering pump location also change between pre 72 and post 73 for same water pump outlet reason, fitting higher on earliers

need to match exhaust pipes with manifold.

the of course tranny and everything related

Didn't the torqueflite come in 318 cars 73-74?

I believe most 318 had the 904, the 727 was available with 340 and 360 in the small block.

there were three versions of the chrysler 727

727A for 273-360
727B for 361-440 (Incl HEMI)
727? for motor homes

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

727A for 273-360 (was fitted in my 318)
727B for 361-440 (Hmm, came in the 400 parts car (inc axle and driveshaft)

My 318 K-frame is good, but the one in my parts car was just paper.
I plan on using the 318 K-frame with new mounts.

Will the 727A work for the 440?

No, the bell housing is different and not removable or changeable. You need a big-block 727.

Just put a 77 440 in my 73 charger (318) Shcumaker mounts were great dropped in first try. Big block 727., looking for drive shaft/ fitting headers/carb linkage for rpm intake, some headaches to go yet.  Take your time, you can do it.

Oh yeah, forgot the C body oil pan won't fit. It looks right but just won't go. I know I tried and tried again.Schumacher gives the measuremets in the conversion instructions and close is not close enough.
A 971 pan with pickup tube solves the problem.
