YES!!!!!!!!!
Guys.. May 20th 1968 This car had a SUNROOF!!!!
He bought the car USED! 6,000 miles.. The salesmans said a rich kid traded it on a new Corvette! He said he was a Chryslers Executives kid!..  

I am on cloud 9!! now I gotta find the kid..

Its gotta B.. I have researched, and Heinz prechtor who owned ASC would 1 off cars to executives to try and get them into the lineup.. This is sure sounding like what it was.. Here is a sneak peak of how the sunroof is put in..
Its welded..

Sunroof cars are NOT welded in they are screwed.. They had brackets that matched the roofline.. There was NO brackets in 1968..Not YET!

Sunroof cars are NOT welded in they are screwed.. They had brackets that matched the roofline.. There was NO brackets in 1968..Not YET!

Well there is going to be alot of discussion on how to proceed.Its already a complete nuts&bolts resto. I had certain things in mind to do that was not "stock" so maybe some will change. .  The guy that had it in 68 is going to try and chase the motor down but that was a long time ago, but you never know..   I have already installed the Torque boxes and subframe connectors so a 100 point, Barrett Jackson car it probably will not be..But i never plan on selling it anyway..
A trailer queen is not for me.. So however it turns out its gonna be fun!!

Lets say it takes awhile or if I never find the Original owner. What kind of documentation would suffice to be with the car? I will never sell but who knows after I am gone?? Should I see if I can get a sworn affadavit something legal and notarized or just a signed letter. Or would any of this matter and be blown off by major car collector because it wasnt  an "Option" ? Any Ideas or suggestions?

I don't know that I would take the "n" out yet, it's still seems to be a one of none since it wasn't offered and wasn't available.  Now don't be mad becuase you think I'm peeing on your cornflakes, I'm just giving my opinion here.
If youcan establish that the car was used as some sort of prototype to test sunroof installation for the 69 models, thne you have something especially cool but to me it would still be a one of none and I don't mean that with any disrespect.
What you may find is that either someone higher up at the sunroof supplier got a hold of this or some executive at Chrysler and offered to throw a sunroof in there for free or cheap to prove the feasability or you may find that it was said executive who thought it would be really cool to have a sunroof in his next demo and he was the one who made the calls and put the deal together on his own.  Either way, if the car has been like that since day one you have an interesting piece there.  The best would be as I mentioned if you can find any form of correspondence between Chrysler and the supplier linking a sunroof experiment to this car or an internal document seeking to try it out.  Those would make it really stand out but if it were mine I would still call it a one of none.

Even with the "proof" I think it would still classify as 1 of none.. since it was not on the options list right? Besides i have gotten kind of fond of the title...

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say.  I guess from mypoint of view collector value will dependent on how heavily Chryslers hand was in the creation of the car.  If it's one or two individuals with connections involved it wouldn't be as valuable as something that was more corporate driven.  But make no mistake a still very valuable one off car in either case.

Here is a cell phone pic. of a pic that was sent to me this morning of the charger in the early 70s.. They are trying to find more, This has went around the world! I will explain as soon as I can sort it all out.. I am suppose to get a call I think from Kuwait or Iraq !

You're very lucky to find that much history and a Certicard. Many if not most owners get Jack Squat for history, which is pretty much what I got. My 68 Charger went through six previous owners in nine years before I bought it.

Thats where I work, she has lived within 20 miles of the car for the last 29 years and didnt know it until last night ! That is so wild and majorly cool about giving up pictures etc..  I wish I new the history of my Charger.  Sometime this weekend I'm going to drive by the address from your certicard just for the hell of it and see what house it is as I know that area very well.   Ted

it gets even smaller i work with the second owner of the "charger sunroof "and we talked about this all the time especially today. mike was so happy when he saw the pics and knew it was still alive that i got chills.i have a 72 charger and have been tryin to find my dads 73 for years now,with no luck.i cant imagine that feeling ,good luck to all.
