Spark Plug Wire Choices

Hey all -

Well the Charger is about to come out of storage, and in my quest to not get shocked when I grab the distro cap, I'm replacing my plugs wires with a set that has boots that fit better.  My current boots don't stay tight on my Mallory cap, especially the coil wire.  I also have one at the block where the boot bends pretty hard because of clearance.

It's a 440 with a MSD box and a Mallory cap.

So I'm looking at these on Summit:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MSD-31313&N=700+0&autoview=sku

Opinions?  Other good options?

I'd go with 8mm Taylors.  They fit very well on my plugs and MP/stock distributor cap.  I spent big bucks and bought an MSD wire set, but they had these wierd 180* angle plugs that ran into clearance problems.  I don't see running anything other than Taylor-they even come in really pretty, highly fashionable colors like yellow, green, blue, etc.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Do your self a favor and buy a 50 ohm wire set...Biggest improvement you can do to your ign system...MSD or Firecore (old Holley annihilator wire) or anyones low resistance wire. :Twocents:

terrible one

I got the 2nd link, the MSD straight boot SC's. I don't really know why. I feel the price was kind of bad. Oh well.

I've been looking at those wires myself, they're nice!!
I have an 8mm set of Accell's on my'68, black with yellow printing. They're "almost" stock looking at a quick glance, aside from the boots at the distributor cap.

That set up is actually plug & play (no pun intended)

painted up a Standard BlueStreak cap tan, ordered up some new plastic retainers, hogged 'em out to fit the wires & painted them up......swap 'em out with the cap & all in about 10 mins

summit now sells a 50 ohm wire as well.  i think the firecore wires are probably a real nice wire, and has done the mopar crowd a great service but i dont like black wires and 140 bucks is way more than im willing to spend on wires......ive ran every thing from msd super conductors to jacobs solid core wires to moroso and taylor wires and the car never had a discernable et differeance between any of them as long as they were in good shape.

Hello, thanks for the awesome comments guys. Yes it's true, many Mopars have enjoyed our new wires. $140 for a set ?!?!?!   Where did you see that ?  $95 is what the selling price is for them..  Please feel free to look at the website..   Call for any questions answered..  Trying to get Big Ron as a WD for Canada.. Wires and Alexander Keith's..   :2thumbs:    Great pic of that Stunning Charger.. Can't wait to see it in person..

Runner

sunroof,  i got the price from one of your venders that was linked off your websight.  it was fbo, ive bought from don before so thats why i chose him , 95 is more in line with what i thought they cost.  140 was sticker shock.
